Patrick Scott, PhD
Patrick moved North in 1975 to work as a cameraman/producer for CBC during the Berger Inquiry. He is the author of Stories Told (2007) which captures some of the stories from the Inquiry, as well as publishing Talking Tools (2010) which explores the power of Dene oral tradition.
Patrick has been a small business owner, public servant, land claim and self government negotiator for both the Government of the NWT and the Dehcho First Nations. His love for the North and the Indigenous People that see themselves as caretakers of the land is evident to anyone who meets him.
Paul Andrew, OWNT
Paul is well known in the NWT for his work in culture, residential school, education and healing, and broadcasting. He became the Chief of Tulita at the age of 22, and served as a Vice President of the Indian Brotherhood of the NWT, now known as Dene Nation, as well as being the Host of CBC TV news program, Focus North. He has received numerous awards for his work including the Order of the NWT and a National Aboriginal Achievement Award.
